Dear Robert,

I am writing to you on behalf of the children affected by the recent floods and landslides in Uttarakhand.

The catastrophic floods and landslides across the state have affected more than 150,000 people including over 65,000 children. Many have been reported displaced, many stranded in places without shelter, food or drinking water.
Save the Children has deployed relief workers in the state, to respond to the needs of children and families hit hardest by the floods. Our experience tells us that children are the most affected during such situations.

Children and families need urgent help. Save the Children's on-ground relief team has identified many badly hit villages in Uttarkashi for immediate and critical response. Speaking to our relief worker Pradeep Kumar from amongst the worst hit villages Kharadhi, Rajeswari Devi said "Our home is no more. I have six children and no means to feed them".
There is an urgent need for dry food items, clean drinking water, blankets, tarpaulin for temporary shelter, medicines, warm clothes and supplementary nutrition for children.

Please donate today and help in saving the lives of many children in Uttarakhand devastated by the flood. The earlier we are able to respond, the better the chances of them recovering from the disaster.

Thank you for your support

Warm regards,
Irwin Fernandes
Director - Resource Mobilisation.
